Washougal Round Table's Development Committee
News You Can Use
Meeting Date: May 2nd, 2017
WHAT WE WORKED ON
As Washougal Round Table's awareness continues to grow, so does our need for BIGGER meeting space. On Tuesday, May 2nd, we held our first session at the Camas Public Library. The meeting space proved to be a fun solution while we continue to source an equally great spot in the downtown Washougal district.
VOTE 4 BOARD PROMPTS!
The construction of the Washougal Conversation Board utilizes magnetic paint as a border. For this summer's installation, we will change questions or prompts on the board as trends arise. And for future use, any number of magnetic messages can be printed and posted utilizing this unique design feature.
The proposed prompts were collected and shared. Formatted into a formal online voting survey, each development committee member will vote for two:
Side A = Washougal NOW Prompt
Side B = Washougal FUTURE Prompt
The remaining questions/prompts will be shared via a free, online community survey that everyone can access to share their thoughts and feedback throughout the entire summer installation.
MORE ACTION =
501(c)3 Non-Profit Status: We continue to move forward with our efforts to obtain WRT's non-profit status. Kathy reported on the latest budget updates where 100% of our expenses have been donated. Kathy will be working on finalizing WRT's bank account within the next two weeks.
Alternative Meeting Space Option: Alex shared the news that Washougal Round Table might have access to meeting space via Friends of the Columbia Gorge. WRT will be exploring the use of this space at our next meeting.
- Washougal High School Art Feature: Alex of OurBar has made significant strides with Excelsior and Washougal High School's art department to collaborate with local high school students. Our goal is to work with these young artists to develop concepts and paint the columns of the Washougal Conversation Board. More to come soon!
Washougal Round Table's bi-weekly meetings are open to the public. You can join our next development committee session on Tuesday, May 16th from 3:30 to 5 PM. RSVP here.
